Action: Development of a coastal plan with specific focus on variability caused by climate change to guide for achieving resilience and sustainable development in the area (a pioneering initiative in Croatia). The coastal plan includes soft, grey and green approaches with no-regret measures.

Greater Jerash Municipality (Jordan) - "Harvesting rainwater and reusing grey water for the Green Garden Concept of Jerash"

Action: Harvesting rainwater (collected in roof tanks) and reusing grey water from council buildings for the Green Garden Concept of Jerash including a raising awareness amongst the population in danger of over-exploiting traditional wells (ground salination and biodiversity loss).

Union of the Municipalities of District of Bint Jbeil (Lebanon) - "Increasing green cover through reforestationand creating new forests through afforestation"

Action: Protecting wetlands and conservation zones, and to increasing forest cover to 15% (220 ha) in the area to reduce the impact of climate (replantation in conservation zones, afforestation and roadside plantations on major routes and minor roads, wildfire prevention and raising awareness among the population).

Ceremony Awards 2019

During the European Climate Change Adaptation Conference (ECCA 2019) in Lisbon from 28 to 30 May, ADEME and its partners handed the second Climate Change Adaptation Award to the Overall Winner, the County Sibenik-Knin in Croatia for its innovative Coastal Plan approach. In the presence of the winners of the first edition, a round table was also held to discuss the monitoring and evaluation processes of adaptation projects.
